Bratton Recreation Ground
The Recreation Ground is on the north side of Bratton, on Trowbridge Road.
Following recent developments, the Ground provides a wide range of facilities:
- A full size football pitch; this is currently used as the home pitch for Trowbridge Town Supporters FC on Sundays and for Westbury FC on Saturdays.
- A cricket square with 5 wickets; this is currently the home pitch for Bratton CC (on Sundays), and Westbury CC 3rd XI and Boomsbury CC (on Saturdays).
- A trim trail; this is an outdoor exercise area around the edge of the Ground, with apparatus for exercises such as press-ups, straddle jumps, sit-ups,
monkey bars, chin ups, vaults and pole climbs. Use of the trim trail is free of charge.
- A pavilion with changing rooms, showers, a kitchen and storerooms.
In December we will be fitting a new kitchen in the pavilion and we have already created the 6th wicket although it will not be ready until late next summer.
Subject to success in obtaining grants, in 2012 we hope to construct a multi-use games area. This will be an all-weather court marked out for tennis, football, basketball and netball.
The Ground is currently fully booked for regular football and cricket. However it is normally available for hire for individual matches.
It is also available for hire for organised small social and entertainment events, although loud noise and camping are prohibited.
Bookings and enquiries should be made to Kevin Williams on 07831 360792 or kevinttscfc@hotmail.com .
The Ground is available 24/7 for informal use by Bratton villagers at no cost.
However, dog walking is discouraged.
If dogs do run onto the Ground please ensure that any mess is cleared up immediately as this would be unhygienic for anyone playing sports or games.
